The preoperative LASIK evaluation is an extremely important and structured examination to determine if a patient is a good candidate for LASIK surgery. This examination is one of the most comprehensive ocular exams done today.1.Comprehensive ocular evaluation: The doctor will evaluate your eye health in detail. During this analysis, the doctor obtains information about the eye. It include measuring the current prescription and the correction required. The doctor will also determine any infection or ocular redness that makes you ineligible for surgery.2.Corneal Composition, Shape, and Thickness: some LASIK surgery requires corneal flap formation. Thus the cornea should be healthy to withstand the trauma and healing. The ophthalmologist evaluated the thickness, shape, and composition of the cornea. The doctor will perform a corneal topography to map the cornea and measure its curvature.3.Intraocular pressure: The doctor will also examine the intraocular pressure of the eye before performing LASIK. The high intraocular pressure in the eye may damage the optic nerve and affects the vision. 4.Refractive error: The doctor also analyzes the type of refractive error, whether nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. You should have a stable prescription for at least one year to make you eligible for the LASIK procedure.5.Tear film tests: The doctor determines the level of the tear film over your eyes. You may also undergo the evaluation of the functioning of the tear duct. An adequate amount of tears and good tear film reduces the complications after LASIK surgery and accelerates corneal healing.6.Pupil measurement: Pupil size measurement is crucial to predict the outcome of the side effects after surgery. If you have a large pupil size, you are at increased risk of developing glare and halos after the surgery. However, the advanced technology that doctors are using today has fewer side effects in patients with large pupil sizes.7.Binocular Vision Assessment: Some patients have binocular vision problems that may affect the overall outcome of the LASIK surgery. Such patients have a muscle alignment problem and may suffer from lazy eyes in their childhood.8.Wavefront analysis: Wavefront analysis is the advanced method to determine the site-specific errors on the cornea. Through this method, there is less dependency on the patients when it comes to defining vision errors.9.Retinal evaluation: You may also undergo a complete retinal evaluation before the LASIK surgery. If there is any retinal hole, as seen in the patients with severe myopia, the doctor seals the hole with lasers. After the retinal healing(approx.3 weeks), the patient undergoes LASIK surgery.10.Other underlying diseases: You should have otherwise healthy eyes and a healthy body for undergoing LASIK surgery. Patients with glaucoma, retinal detachment, progressive keratoconus ,corneal trauma, and conditions such as steven Johnson syndrome, systemic lupus erythematous are generally ineligible for the LASIK procedure. After proper evaluation the doctor will discuss various lasik options with you standard lasik, customised lasik, contura lasik, prk, trans prk, femto lasik, femto contura lasik or SMILE PRO

A standard ophthalmic exam is a comprehensive series of tests done by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. These doctors specialize in eye health. They'll use these tests to check both your vision and the health of your eyes. A standard ophthalmic exam is also known as a comprehensive eye exam or a routine eye exam.Eye checkups can detect various conditions, including:Refractive Errors: Such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, which can be corrected with glasses or contact lenses.Eye Diseases: Conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy can be identified through eye exams.Cataracts: Clouding of the eye's lens, often associated with aging, can be detected.Amblyopia (Lazy Eye): A condition where one eye doesn't develop properly, leading to reduced vision.Strabismus: Misalignment of the eyes, which can affect depth perception.Conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the conjunctiva, commonly known as pink eye.Regular eye checkups help catch these issues early, improving the chances of successful treatment and preserving vision.

Clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. Most cataracts develop slowly over the course of years. The main symptom is blurry vision. Having cataracts can be like looking through a cloudy window. When a cataract interferes with someone's usual activities, the cloudy lens can be replaced with a clear, artificial lens. This is generally a safe, outpatient procedure.Cataract surgery, also called lens replacement surgery, is the removal of the natural lens of the eye that has developed a cataract, an opaque or cloudy area. The eye's natural lens is usually replaced with an artificial intraocular lens implant. Different types of Cataract Surgery are performed as per patient requirement.MICS,Phacoemulsification,SICS,ECCE,Femto cataract with best premium Intraocular lenses at cost effective/budget prices.
